The hubby and I decided to spend President’s Day weekend in Pittsburgh with my parents. We packed up the car with the pups and headed north. The snow was waiting for us of course so that made the journey even more exciting. So over the mountains and through the woods we went.
Whenever we come home we always make a request to go to The Strip District. Before your mind starts racing with crazy thoughts you can take a second to find out more about The Strip here.
First Stop – Breakfast!
When you go to The Strip you have to get there early so its best to plan on getting breakfast, which is easy since there are so many delicious options. Often we find ourselves eating at Pamela’s but on this Saturday there was a long wait. So, my dad suggested that we go to Kelly O’s Diner which was equally delicious. Diner food is so satisfying and simple and a great way to get your morning started in The Strip.
I could spend hours talking about all the wonderful stops, sights, smells but I am sure you don’t want to go through all of that. Instead I have taken some photos that I feel capture some of the greatness of The Strip. Enjoy!
Pumellos! – I have no idea what these taste like but they look fun.
Pennsylvania Macaroni – This is a must visit. Cheese lovers paradise and lots of Italian favorites.
Red Lentils
Fresh made pasta!
I wanted to grab these right off the table!
The Strip is filled with so much history and I think it is the real heart of Pittsburgh. If you need another reason to come visit you may want to stop by and try the World Famous Primanti Bros. The Strip is home to the first Primanti’s and it is a must see for visitors to The Steel City!
